Gentle, hands-only MLD for swelling, post-op recovery, facial puffiness and pregnancy, from a certified therapist.
Book Lymphatic DrainageWhat Is MLD
Manual lymphatic drainage is a slow, rhythmic technique that gently stretches the skin to help move lymph fluid toward working lymph nodes. Maria trained in the Vodder method with Klose Training, the program lymphedema therapists use, and every session is fully manual: her hands only, with no machines, compression pumps or cupping.
Clients across Frisco, Plano, Prosper, Carrollton and North Dallas book MLD for post-op recovery, reduce facial puffiness, relieve heavy legs and ankles during pregnancy, or simply rest. Most find it one of the most relaxing hours of their week.
Manual only. Bleu Massage doesn’t use lymphatic machines, vacuum therapy or devices. Every stroke is done by hand.

Frequently Asked
MLD is a gentle, rhythmic, hands-on technique that moves lymph fluid toward working lymph nodes. Maria is trained in the Vodder method through Klose Training, the approach used by lymphedema therapists. It uses light, skin-stretching strokes, not deep muscle pressure.
Each visit starts with a short intake about your health, any surgery and your goals. You rest on the table, clothed or draped, while Maria works very lightly, usually starting at the neck to open the main drainage pathways before moving to the area you want treated. Most clients find it deeply calming. Drink water afterward; you may need the restroom more often that day.
Swedish and deep tissue massage work on muscle with moderate to firm pressure. MLD works on the lymphatic system just under the skin, so the pressure is feather-light, the strokes are slow and directional, and the aim is less swelling rather than muscle release. Pressing harder actually makes MLD less effective.
Many surgeons recommend lymphatic drainage to help with swelling and fluid build-up during recovery. Maria asks for written clearance from your surgeon before your first post-op session and follows their timing. She works around incisions and drains and never presses on healing tissue.
Facial MLD is a gentle sequence for the neck, jaw, cheeks and around the eyes. Clients book it for morning puffiness, sinus pressure, or swelling after dental or cosmetic procedures. A 60-minute session can combine facial and neck work with drainage for the upper body.
For a healthy pregnancy, MLD is a gentle way to relieve swelling in the ankles, feet and hands. Maria sees prenatal MLD clients from the second trimester onward and asks for your OB's approval, especially if you have high blood pressure, preeclampsia or a high-risk pregnancy. Sessions use a side-lying setup with no pressure on the abdomen.
No. Every session at Bleu Massage is manual only: Maria's hands, with no machines, pneumatic compression pumps, vacuum cupping or devices.
Do not book MLD if you have an active infection or fever, a suspected or untreated blood clot (DVT), acute heart failure or kidney failure, or a cancer diagnosis that hasn't been cleared by your oncologist. If you're unsure, ask your doctor first. MLD supports your recovery but doesn't replace medical treatment.
You can book 60 or 120 minutes. Choose 60 minutes for a focused area or the face, and 120 for full-body drainage or extended post-op recovery work. Post-op clients often book a short series in the first few weeks; Maria will suggest a plan at your first visit.
Complimentary hot stone comes with our massage sessions, but heat isn't used during lymphatic drainage or post-op recovery because it can increase swelling.
